Frequently Asked Questions

Futures are derivative financial contracts that force a party to buy or sell an underlying asset at a predetermine future date and price.

Futures use high leverage. Leverage means the trader does not need to put up 100% of the contract’s value amount when entering into a trade. Instead the broker requires and initial margin amount, which is a fraction of the total contracts value.

Forex or Foreign Exchange (“FX”) is a global decentralized market for over-the-counter trading of currencies. They are traded in pairs and not centralized like the Futures markets, where they are traded on a designated exchange.

Given the Wild West nature of the Forex market, we do not trade these instruments.

This is a big misconception. The Pattern Day Trader rule applies to Stocks and Options only. Futures are regulated by the CFTC and NFA, while securities are regulated by SEC and FINRA. Each have their own set of rules. The PDT does not apply to Futures.

Futures Traders benefit from a more favorable tax treatment than equity traders under section 1256 of the Internal Revenue Code.

No, we do not provide mentorship or education services at the moment. Our core focus is algorithmic trading, and the development of the best algorithm for retail traders.

TFN Bars are our proprietary bars best used with the TFN Algo.  The bars try to capture the idea that price hovers around levels, then rapidly moves to the next level of support / resistance. They are a fully backtestable bar type with a backtest mode which can be toggled On / Off.

We recommend a Desktop PC, with a minimum of an Intel i5 processor, 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD or NVMe drive with a WIRED network connection & UPS Battery Backup. Wifi connections and laptops are not recommended to run any automated trading algo.

While every funding program is different, with different rules and parameters, we can’t make any statements to guarantee any user will be funded, as that would constitute a ‘guarantee of profit’.  But others have reported success in these programs.

Yes, once you sign up, the TFN Algo and TFN Bars will also work in Sim and Playback mode.

We recommend you check the algo at a minimum of once per day to be sure it is performing as expected.

The algo is maintained as necessary with new features added often.

Currently our only model is the monthly lease subscription.  We have to control the number of people that can use our product.  Too many traders trading the same idea will lead to alpha decay.  Therefore, we must monitor the number of people that actively use our product.

Yes, TFN Bars are included.

The TFN algo runs on NinjaTrader 8.  It does not run on any other platform.

No. While free trials are helpful for the user to determine if a product is right for them, we have to control the number of people that can use our product.  Too many traders trading the same idea will lead to signal decay.  Therefore, we must limit the number of people that can use our product to paying subscribers only.

While we use a Virtual Private Server in Chicago, one is not needed.  If you want a VPS, look at Speedy Trading Servers.

While we can’t offer you any financial advice, we recommend no one trade the algo with less than $5,000 USD.

The system can work on all versions of NT8. The Free, Monthly, Lifetime versions.
